Cailey Augustin
Ms. Augustin initially became interested in trial advocacy in high school where she was the inaugural captain of her school’s mock trial team. Ms. Augustin then went on to pursue her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at the University of Miami where she continued with her passion for litigation. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Augustin was the recipient of numerous best attorney and best witness awards.
This experience granted her the unique opportunity of becoming the only first-year law student at the University of Miami School of Law able to participate in Trial Team.
During her second year of law school, Ms. Augustin had the privilege of participating in a Death Penalty Practicum, where she observed and assisted experienced capital attorneys in preparing for trial on multiple counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder, RICO and conspiracy charges.
Ms. Augustin went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, receiving distinguishing remarks in courses focused on advocacy such as Litigation Skills, Advanced Appellate Advocacy, Legal Communication and Research, Disability Law, and more.
Most recently, Ms. Augustin was an Assistant Public Defender with the Second Judicial Circuit of Florida in Tallahassee, Florida. While there, Ms. Augustin represented over 100 clients at a time in a variety of criminal charges.
In her free time, Ms. Augustin is a para-equestrian.
