Christine Benavente

Attorney Christine Benavente joins the Baez Law Firm as an Associate. In May of 2022, Christine graduated magna cum laude from St. Thomas University College of Law. During her time at STU Law, Christine served as a Judicial Intern to U.S. District Judge Marcia G. Cooke of the Southern District of Florida and as a Judicial Intern to Circuit Judge Daryl Trawick of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. She also served as Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review and as President of the Immigration Law Student Association.

From 2021–2022, Christine participated in the Immigration Clinic at St. Thomas University College of Law, where she successfully argued a Convention Against Torture case before the Miami Immigration Court, affording her client release from detention and a second chance at life in the United States. Additionally, she wrote an appellate brief to the Board of Immigration Appeals, where the Board found in her client’s favor.

Prior to entering law school, Christine attended Florida International University where she graduated cum laude and obtained a B.S. in Communication. While at FIU, she wrote several news articles that were published by the Miami Herald, including her article, Germ-free playground will help 2-year-old cancer patient thrive, which gained local media coverage by WSVN-7, CBS Miami, and El Nuevo Herald.

Today, Christine combines her passion for the law, truth, reason, and advocacy in order to give her clients a voice and help them obtain the best results possible.
